Year after year the Lord continued to mould the African Revival into an apostolic company under the prophetic leadership of Apostle Andrew Wutawunashe to greater experiences with Christ. from smallness into a great gathering of a blessed people at work
to build with God a House of Worship in the nations. Below are some of the many watershed events that are a testimony to God’s great love and faithfulness to the Family of God Church:
1980: The Birth of the Church
After a few years of preaching and witnessing, which saw thousands of people getting saved, God led Brother Andrew Wutawunashe to begin a New Testament church known as the Worldwide Family of God Church (WFGC) for the shepherding and mentoring of believers. The first congregation in Harare, Zimbabwe had 30 people.
1981: Worship and Arts
The Worship and Arts ministry began with the inauguration of the first Family Choir and the Family Singers. The Church's ministry has gained a great influence in Zimbabwe, where the Family Singers are acknowledged as pioneers of Contemporary Gospel music. Today the Revival's music and worship has risen from many nations where the Church has a presence, and has become a powerful tool for spreading the love and power of Christ
1982: The First Storm & Multiplication of Congregations
Prophet Andrew Wutawunashe led the Church on a blitz of Miracle Gospel Crusades and Faith Clinics, which saw the planting of dozens of growing churches across Zimbabwe. 1983: THE SHECHEM MINISTRY BEGAN
In 1983 Apostle Andrew Wutawunashe was Spirit-led to begin the "Shechem" ministry - a move that took his ministry into the nations to be a blessing to the Body of Christ. Between 1983 and 1987 he ministered to churches in Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Russia, USA, India, UK and Latvia
1983: THE FIRST ACQUISITION OF IMMOVABLE ASSETS
The Family of God Church acquired its first property, Leopard Rock Hotel, in 1983.Proceeds from the eventual sale of the hotel funded the acquisition of several other properties including Glen Forest Farm and Bethel Mission. Later the church purchased the former 7 Arts theater in Bulawayo for the Bulawayo Citywide Church and in 1993 built a large church, halls and offices for the Masvingo Citywide Church. A Pastor’s Manse was also purchased for that congregation.
1985: THE FIRST FAMILY OF GOD CHURCH IN THE NATIONS
God opened doors into Zambia for the planting of one of the first Family of God Church in the nations. To date the church is established in seventeen nations. Glory to God!!!
1990: THE FAMILY YOUTH MINISTRY BEGAN
In 1990 God led Prophet Wutawunashe to raise the youths of the church as Overcomers and Achievers and develop them into a Messianic Generation to bring salvation to others, energize the church and carry on with the Vision God gave to their fathers. The youth have grown into a frontline force in the church, and hold an annual International Youth Convention in Botswana in August.
1991: THE PRECIOUS STONE MINISTRY BEGAN
Dr. R F Wutawunashe, wife of Prophet and Apostle Wutawunashe, established the Precious Stone Ministry, an arm of the church which provides Biblical teaching to raise women and girls to their true value as “Precious Stones” that are productive, influential and fruitful for God, in the family, and in society. The International Women And Girls Convention is held annually in June in Harare, Zimbabwe.
1992: INAUGURATION OF THE WORLD HARVEST CONVENTION, UK
Prophet Wutawunashe inaugurated the first World Harvest Convention in the UK with an attendance of about fifty people. The Convention is held annually at the end of August and it now attracts hundreds of believers from everywhere.

Prophet Wutawunashe inaugurated the annual Family Sunday. The Every year the citywide Family of God Church holds a special Sunday dedicated to Families and Family enrichment. It is a time to reach out to the community in every way possible with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to communities with every expression of the love of Jesus Christ. It is a time when God adds to the church in a special way. The Family Sunday season begins in September
1992: INAUGURATION OF THE FAMILY SINGERS & FRIENDS OUTREACH
Prophet Wutawunashe inaugurated the first Family Singers and Friends Music and Worship citywide outreach. The first gathering was held in the newly built Harare International Conference Center, a 5000-seater facility in the Harare Sheraton Hotel in the city center. Friends of the Family Singers, Brother Thornton Bell, came from as far away as the Seed of Abraham Church in Seattle, Washington State USA. The place was filled to capacity. After the singers sang and the Apostle preached the Word, thousands came to Christ with salvation, healing and many were baptised with the Holy Ghost.
1993: INAUGURATION OF THE MIGHTY MEN MINISTRY
In 1993 Prophet Wutawunashe inaugurated the Mighty Men Movement as an arm of the church to mobilize, teach and train men and boys to stand up and play their God given role in the church, family and society. The International Mighty Men
Convention is held annually in May in Zimbabwe.
1997: INAUGURATION OF THE SOUTHERN AFRICA CONVENTIONS"
The first of these conventions was the historic Johannesburg Southern Africa Convention in September 1997. They were the result of the word God spoke to Prophet Wutawunashe that He would change the face of Africa one person at a time, and He would use people with the spirit of the New Generation.
2000: INAUGURATION OF FAITH FOR THE NATION CAMPAIGN
In 2000 God spoke to Prophet Wutawunashe to establish a platform on which the Body of Christ has a united voice to rally the nation to look to God for guidance and answers to national issues. Today the Campaign is a constant Godly voice of conscience and guidance in the nation and, in times of crisis, speaks salvation and hope in Christ.
